Guest Speaker, Mick De Groot, Ambulance Victoria’s Paramedic Community Support Coordinator for Murrindindi LGA.
Mick's roles with Ambulance Victoria are Community Engagement and Education, as well as managing the volunteer AV base at Eildon and Marysville.
Mick prepared himself well to present the “Chain of Survival”, which was to include information on CPR, use of defibrillator, what to do in an emergency, when it is not an emergency, and when to call and ambulance ….
A member decided to test the system, as feeling so unwell that he needed assistance, he took advantage of having an AV paramedic on site, as well having a nurse sitting next to him.
Thanks to Mick, the patient was ambulanced off to the Northern Hospital for further tests.
We wish them well and look forward to them being back on deck.
Meeting closed early.
Update: Patient is back home!

3 Minute Speaker - Haru
Haru told us of the highlights of her recent Central Australian tour. Travelling from Darwin to Melbourne.
In Darwin Haru came face to face with a 5.1 metre crocodile, even with a glass wall be-tween then, that’s still tooooo close for me! Very brave, Haru!
Some of the highlights were visiting Kakadu National Park, Uluru and Kings Canyon,
Witnessing the beautiful colours of sunset and sunrise at Uluru was spectacular.
There were lots of flies, though nets on hats kept them at bay, and lots of mosquitoes at night while experiencing camping at its best—in a swag! It truly was a wonderful 2 week experience and Haru will be taking home many life long memories.

Caterers: Tonight the Yea Riding Club serviced another fabulous meal. Thankyou!
