Guest Speakers- a Zoom chat with Sharon and Pete Crean who are working with Beyond Water projects in East Africa.

Sharon & Pete Crean have been in the East Africa region since 2012—Kenya, Nairobi, Uganda and Rwanda—installing 10,000 l water tanks, solar pumps for deep water wells, toilets (long drops), handwashing facilities in schools and medical centres to promote hygiene and working with the Girls Project to ensure girls are able to continue their education without interruption due to menstrual cycles. There are many cultural issues to work through, and due to the cost factor, all the digging is done manually without the use of machinery. They are continually chasing funding to continue their valuable work in the East African region.
An interesting question session followed, with David Anderson passing on his Rotary Foundation contact in the region for global funding.
