Due to the Co-vid 19 Health Emergency Club Meetings have been cancelled until further notice

A message from President Sue

Dear fellow members.
How sad that we cannot have our club meetings at the moment. I am missing our regular contact as many of you may also be. Please remember that we can keep in touch with each other by phone or perhaps meet up in small groups if we practice social distancing.
The best advice I heard today was that we can try and be as healthy as possible and then we will have a better outcome should we be unlucky enough to get the virus...so eat well, get enough exercise and sleep well. Best wishes to all of you. Sue

The Board met on Thursday 19th March and made the following decisions for this time of the CO-VID 19 health emergency.

The Club Board advises you of the following:

1. There will be no formal meeting of the Club at the Golf Club through to and including 30 April. The Board will constantly monitor the recommendations and decisions of Government and Rotary District 9790 and Rotary International and make any necessary changes or adjustments when required or it is prudent to do so.

2. The editors of the Club Bulletin (Glenda and Julie) have been asked to continue to produce the Bulletin weekly for the information of members and to ensure members are still connected and engaged.

3. The Club Secretary will produce a ‘phone tree’ so that the members of the Board will reach out to and connect with members in their group on a weekly basis during the health emergency.
The Board also received advice and notification of the following:

1. the cancellation of the autumnal ball in May with a view to holding it in spring (late October/early November)

2. the cancellation of Cycle Dindi as has been communicated to all members

The cancellation of the Rotary International Convention which was scheduled for 6 – 10 June

The Board noted the previously notified and early cancellation, on 13 March, of the District 9790 Conference scheduled for this coming weekend and appreciated all the planning, preparation and work that had been undertaken for the Conference.

Rotarians from Yea (Julie and Ian) and Numurkah (Lorraine Greenwood) assisted members of the D9790 Bushfire Recovery team DGN Anne Reid and AG Marg Crisp sort and pack books in Corryong last week. The books were donated from Numurkah and delivered to schools, the pre school and the Nursing home in Corryong and surrounds.
