Guest Speaker: Geoff Heath Converting Plastic to Diesel
Jeff has an extensive record of service to community, and has owned, bought and sold a few businesses in his time. His current business venture sees an innovation in recycling where waste plastics are converted to diesel. (A reverse process). The original company went into liquidation and so he bought it and floated it on the exchange. The company is now called Future Energy.

It took 13 years to secure a patent for the technology, and they have had minimal government support with their venture. 450t of plastic waste ends up in landfill per day. There is technology whereby a boat with a massive scoop is being used to clean up the ocean of some of the plastic pollution, turning the plastic to diesel on the ship. One of the only complaints about the diesel being produced is the fact that it has been a little too pure. There is much to be done in relation to the education of plastic recycling.
