“Getting to Know You” Meet Rotarian Les Hall
Les spent the first 19 years of his life in Porpunkah, and mill town in northeast Victoria. He attended primary school in Porpunkah and high school in Bright. Les suffered an illness at the age of 9, which obliterated many early childhood memories.
The Hall family ran the butcher's shop, and Les worked in the business in his spare time and this led and a job when he completed schooling. Weekends were spent playing sport, with the fam-ily enjoying football and cricket.
Les also joined the droving teams, moving cattle to and from the high country as the seasons changed. Highlights of the weekends were the Saturday night picture s at Bright, and participating in the Bright Autumn festival was always fun. Les tried out with North Melbourne Football Club, though unfortunately being accident prone, did not proceed. …… Then Larrikan Les met Wendy!...

“Getting to Know You” Meet Cassie Wilsmore, daughter of Rotarian Kelly Wilsmore.
Cassie spoke of her passion to play womens football. Having finished her secondary education at Yea High School, she is not attending university doing Agriculture and Business. Apart from football, her hobbies include the snow and horses. Cassiestarted playing football in Phanton Hills as a junior, and continued to play football and netball in Yea when the family moved into the area. She was integral to the start up of a girls under 16 football team at Yea, and played for 2 years with the team, moving on to Eastern Ranges and Wesley Collegians. Cassie is now playing for Healesville. She would love to be playing local community football, but this is hampered by lack of facilities for girls and great travel distances to compete with other womens football teams. Sadly womens football is undervalued by leagues with fix-tures and facilities.Hopefully, the opportunity to play for Yea will arise again.Club Business:
