Guest Speaker, Robyn Hill from Foundation Murrindindi.
Robyn is one of two Executive Officers of Foundation Murrindindi, which is an independent community owned philanthropic group, working for local needs and issues within the Murrindindi Shire and is made up of a voluntary board of 9 members. The Foundation was formed in 2012, following on from the great support provided to our communities by the Marysville Triangle Community Foundation, which was formed to aid the disbursement of Victorian Bushfire Appeals Funds after the 2009 Black Saturday fires which affected 40% of the shire. Recovery is still ongoing. $1,000,000 was received to disburse through the bushfire affected communities, with $850,000 granted to 50 groups for community projects, particularly supporting youth programs and Building Community Capacity. The Foundation is an enabler of grants to assist groups, and now is including fundraising to attract funds, which are used launch community programs and support ongoing projects. In Yea, the schools have been supported with Back to School Vouchers for families and the Community House has received funds to support Yea groups. Mental health and wellbeing is an ongoing concern and the Foundation is looking to support programs for our community.
Marj Hamilton gave a vote of thanks to Robyn for her presentation.
Three Minute Speaker: Glenda
Glenda made a visit to the Australian Women’s Weekly: 90 Years of an Australian Icon exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery on Monday, which was a pictorial reflection of the last 90 years of inspiring women and highlights through this time. So many changes have been seen by our generation, from fashion, media, technology, music, national and international leaders and transport—to name just a few! How lucky are we to be part of these changes!

Thank you to Yea Primary School for our delicious meal tonight.
