Induction of a new member: Tony Jacobs
For the second week running, the club has inducted a new member—this time Tony Jacobs from Murrindindi, put forward by Paul Kellett. Paul has known Tony for about 25 years and said that he will be a great asset to the club. He has a background in accounting, and since being in the area, has been involved on the boards of both the Yea and Alexandra hospitals and involved in the charity Blue Dragon, to support street kids in Hanoi. Tony was then inducted and will have the classification of Finance and is to be on the International Committee. Welcome to the club Tony. We all hope you enjoy the journey!!

Guest Speaker: Di Welsh: The Person Behind The Badge
A member now for a whole week, Di gave her story behind the badge.

Di grew up in Nottingham, England and enjoyed Brownies and eventually became a Queens Guide. She left home for Liverpool and studied to become a Nurse. This led to a lifetime of nursing in numerous hospitals, in England and Australia (twice), specialising in children’s wards and midwifery. Di has enjoyed a satisfying career in nursing and thoroughly enjoyed her professional journey. She has two children (twins—now 25 years old) and currently lives in Yarck. Having retired in May, Di is loving life and is interested in studying as a remedial massage therapist. Welcome to Rotary Di!

3 minuter: Gary Fitzgerald.
Gary sort of winged it and gave a potted history of his life and started off by saying he was one of the ‘oldest Rotarians’ but amended that to be one of the longest serving Yea Rotarians, having joined Rotary in 1986. From Fairfield PS to Mildura, into banking, accountancy and eventually farming, with stints overseas in 1968 and 1972. Marriage and two daughters later, Fitzy is still in Yea and still in Rotary!
